My favourite quilty podcasts

The last fews weeks as we really get into spring, I have been out in the garden (read pulling out weeds) and enjoying the sunshine. Over the weekend as Archer played beside me making cups of tea with dirt and an old mug, I soaked up the vitamin D and listened to Mary Fons rap on about activism through consumerism and quilt souls. Who can beat that for a beautiful Sunday morning?

Do you listen to podcasts? Are they quilt related or on another subject? Where is your favourite place to listen to them?

I have rounded up my favourite quilt themed podcasts so you can have a listen, because lets face it, who doesn’t love quilting conversations!

Crafty Planner with Sandi Sawa Hazlewood

Sandi’s podcast gives you a little more than just quilting. She’s not afraid to talk about race, gender bias, artistic credit and so much more. Notable interviews include Lizzy House, Jacquie Gering and Vanessa Wilson of Crafty Gemini. And her intro song is by the Beastie Boys. Say what?

While She Naps with Abby Glassenberg

Abby is not afraid of controversy and digging into the hard topics that are affecting the quilting and craft industries. Notable episodes include interviews with Etsy following their latest marketplace changes and the ladies behind Creative Bug (my new favourite online classroom).

Modern Sewciety with Stephanie Kandron

I have to confess, Modern Sewciety is the first quilty podcast I came across, because my good friend Chris has a long standing B side series where they have a friendly conversation about anything and everything. Some of my favourite episodes are with Anna-Maria Horner and an hour with Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle you won’t regret.

I want to know what your favourite quilty podcasts are – who am I missing from my list?

  1. Those are my three favourite podcasters too, another one that I listen to is Me Being Crafty by Tsoniki Crazy Bull. I generally listen to podcasts while I’m in my workroom quilting.

    1. I have subscribed to that podcast as well now – thanks for the hot tip! Cx

  2. Thank you for sharing my podcast! I also listen to those podcasts and started listening to Seamwork from Colette. 🙂 Thank you again!!!
